From Aken (GER) hails rockband Silent Deceiver, a band that has set quite a name for itself in the euregional music scene and who will provide your seasonal warm-up through a range of authentic rocksongs that will bring back the good ol' times. Thursday September 17th 2009 Wave-n-80s is a New Wave and 80's event, an evening and night packed with live bands and dazzling DJ sets, which will take place Saturday the 28th of November 2009 at Music-cafe Smiley's Brunssum (NL). Unique to this event is the combination of tribute- and 'own-repertoire' bands, larded with the dedication of a DJ familiar with the 80's. The international line-up: -JOY DE VIVRE (BE) -32 OHM (NL) -STRANGE AS ANGELS (BE) -DJ H.A.R. (NL) 32 Ohm plays a mixture of self-written work in the English and German language with Krautrock-, postpunk and other 80's influences. The band has been well picked up by the German internet media. Closing act Strange As Angels (The Cure tribute) finds its roots in West-Vlaanderen. Just take a listen and it's as if you hear Robert Smith himself. Wave-n-80s will be kicked off by Joy de Vivre (Joy Division tribute), also from West-Vlaanderen. Joy de Vivre will immediately set the right mood for Wave-n-80s. Between live acts and during the afterparty DJ H.A.R. will treat you to 80's music along with lots of wave.
